How we check facts
Order of sources
For any fact, the first place we look is an official or government site, or the operator’s own page: the ferry line, the resort, the tour company. If those say nothing, we turn to booking agents, then Wikivoyage, then Wikipedia, then news coverage.
A quote for every fact
No fact is stored on its own. It sits beside the link it came from and the words on that page that support it. That quote is compared with the live page, and the fact is given a date for its next check.
Sources sometimes give different figures, for instance two ferry fares. In that case the page shows the range and names each source. Anything we cannot confirm stays off the site.
Writing and review
The guide pages are written by an AI model, Anthropic’s Claude, and it works only from the checked facts. Before any page is published it passes automatic checks and then a review by a person.
Images are real photographs from Wikimedia Commons and Pexels, never AI-generated, and each is credited on the image credits page.
What each page shows
Small numbers beside the facts point to the page’s source list. At the foot of the page, a short history records each change with its date.
