Shared snorkel days. You join other snorkellers on a longtail; Adang Sea Divers takes at most 12² per boat. Its standard trip stops at Jabang, Hin Ngam, Koh Yang and Koh Adang².
Far Islands days. Adang Sea Divers’ longer route visits Hin Son, Bulo, Koh Dong (Monkey Beach), Koh Lugoi, Koh Pung and Hin Ngam².
Private longtail charters. Your group has the boat to itself, and prices and routes vary².

Koh Adang, a stop on the standard and Green Season routes, lies directly north of Koh Lipe⁶. Its hilly, jungle-covered interior has two waterfalls⁸, and Pirate Falls is a 90-minute hike each way¹.

The right trip depends on your budget, how well you swim and how many of you there are.

Tight budget: take a shared longtail. Wikivoyage says Forra Diving lets snorkellers join its day trips with lunch and equipment included¹.
Non-swimmers: the standard shared trip is not led by a professional guide². Adang Sea Divers sells an in-water snorkel guide for an extra 1,500 baht per guide².
Couples, families and small groups: a private longtail sets its own pace, and the price is per boat⁹, so the cost per head falls as the group grows.
Certified divers: at Adang Sea Divers the price per dive falls for 11 or more dives³, and the centre takes 10% off⁷ fun dives and courses in the Green Season.
First-time divers: start with a Try SCUBA dive, or sign up for the SSI Open Water course at 14,500 THB³.
Green-season visitors: one joined longtail trip sold online for June-September visits the Koh Kra dive site¹⁰.

What tour prices leave out

Most published tour prices leave out the national park fee, and some also leave out food and fins.

Park fee 200 THB for foreigners⁴

Adang Sea Divers does not include the National Park fee² in its snorkel prices, and Idyllic Concept Resort’s excursion prices exclude it too¹¹.
A high-season snorkel trip sold online by longtail or speedboat excludes snorkel gear, lunch box and drinks⁴.
Headout’s private longtail does not include food and drinks¹².
On Adang Sea Divers trips, fins are rented separately².

Adang Sea Divers’ group tours meet daily at its centre on Sunrise Beach², so you make your own way there.

Sunrise Beach is on the island’s east side¹. Sunset Beach, which Wikivoyage calls best for sunset views, is on the west side¹, and visitors go to Pattaya Beach for nightlife⁶. Check how far your bed is from the meeting point: more on where to stay.

Nation Thailand reported that Tarutao began closing on 16 May in 2024, with the whole park due to reopen on 30 September¹⁴.
Koh Lipe itself stays open throughout the monsoon¹⁴. The Green Season trip goes to Koh Kra, Koh Adang and Koh Taru², among other stops.
December is high season. Wikivoyage gives the high season as November to May¹, and Adang Sea Divers as November to April⁷.
In July 2026, The Star reported a Thai Meteorological Department forecast of 2-3 metre waves¹⁵ in the lower Andaman Sea.

Getting to Koh Lipe for a tour

Every tour here starts on the island, so first you need a boat from Pak Bara Pier, Langkawi or Koh Lanta.

Langkawi ferries run from mid-October until mid-May⁶.
In the low season, the only way to reach Koh Lipe is by speedboat from Pak Bara⁶.

What are some good day trips to Koh Lipe?

From the island, boat trips to nearby reefs and islands such as Ko Kra are a popular day out. Reaching Koh Lipe takes about 1.5 hours from Langkawi or Pak Bara, so check return times before planning it as a day trip.

Do I pay the national park fee again on every tour?

Headout says the fee is due on first entry to Koh Lipe and is valid for 5 days.

Can I snorkel without joining a tour?

Wikivoyage lists Kathalee Lipe Resort as offering free kayak and snorkel rental.
